Ahavat Shalom’s Couples Club provides an easy path for young
couples
and empty nesters
to meet socially with other couples and establish roots in our
community. All planned
events are generally relaxed, informal occasions for sharing,
celebration and deeds of community service (mitzvot). Since its establishment, the group has set aside time for
evenings at the theater, dinners, wine tasting and mitzvah projects, such
as helping to build a home for families in need through Habitat for
Humanity.

Sisterhood
Temple Ahavat Shalom Sisterhood is a woman’s organization which strives to
help women bond together, learn from one another, and share experiences
that enable themselves and their families to grow and lead more
fulfilling Jewish lives.
Its
membership is made up of a diverse group of woman of varied ages,
education, and religious observances whom share a common goal; serving
Temple Ahavat Shalom. Sisterhood
is a community in which all women connect.
The
primary objective of our Temple Sisterhood is to provide an agenda of
education and social networking activities that meet the needs of the
women of the congregation. We
achieve this by undertaking specific projects to enhance and enrich the
life of the congregation. These
projects include: Judaica Shop; Bar/Bat Mitzvah and Confirmation students; Rummage Sale;
Women’s Purim Dinner, and ongoing fundraising projects that benefit
the temple, including the Youth Scholarship Fund.
Our
Sisterhood is affiliated with the women of Reform Judaism, Federation of
Temple Sisterhoods, which is a legal affiliate of the Union of American
Hebrew congregations. It is
the largest single contributor to the Youth Dept. Budget of UAHC
(including SFTY and Camp Coleman).
It serves as the women’s fundraising agency for the Hebrew
union college and rabbinical students.
It also serves and supports the Jewish Braille Institute of
America.
Its
members are made up of a diverse group of men of all ages and
backgrounds. Our common goals are to support the temple, make new
friends, positive role models for our children, and promote our Jewish
Heritage.
We
offer a wide array of social, fundraising and charitable events that
provide enormous opportunities to make new friends, share good times and
perform mitzvot. Brotherhood also sponsors several events during the
year including: Men's Night out, Breakfast meetings, Health Fair, Super
bowl Party, and the Purim Carnival. We have many other events planned
through the year such as guest speakers, family picnics and more.
Our
brotherhood is affiliated with the North American Federation of Temple
Brotherhoods. Any male member of the temple is invited and encouraged to
join the Brotherhood. For additional information, please call the
Temple
office. To
